  • Administered as a live vector frozen vaccine, typically by subcutaneous injection to one-day-old chicks.
  • Protection against HPAI starts after 2 weeks of age.
  • Duration of immunity for HPAI is at least 19 weeks.
  • Allows for differentiating infected from vaccinated animals (DIVA) because it only elicits antibodies against the H5 protein, enabling the detection of field infection and supporting eradication effort
